Knowledge of hanseniase portators in relationship of phisical therapeutic intervention warn

Resumo

A hanseníase é uma doença infecto-contagiosa que acomete principalmente a pele e as membranas mucosas orais e nasais e os nervos periféricos do sistema músculo-esquelético. Acredita-se que o conhecimento do paciente à respeito da patologia, prevenção de complicações e importância da fisioterapia nesse processo, possa favorecer a uma melhor qualidade de vida dos portadores de hanseníase. Objetivou-se avaliar o conhecimento do portador de hanseníase em relação à intervenção fisioterapêutica preventiva. Trata-se de um estudo do tipo quantitativo e transversal, realizado por meio da aplicação de um questionário elaborado pelas pesquisadoras, após aprovação do Comitê de ética em Seres Humanos do Centro de Referência Nacional em Dermatologia Sanitária D. Libânia com o parecer 014/07. A amostra foi constituída por 31 pacientes portadores de hanseníase, independente do sexo, atendidos no setor de fisioterapia. Dentre os entrevistados, 48,4% desconheciam a doença antes de contraí-la e 19,4% dos entrevistados tiveram esse conhecimento através de profissionais da saúde. Quanto às complicações da hanseníase, somente 19,4% relataram não conhecê-las.  Dentre os pacientes entrevistados, 96,8% afirmaram que a fisioterapia tem papel importante no tratamento e todos relataram observar melhora do quadro clínico após os atendimentos. As orientações sobre a patologia e o tratamento proporcionadas pelos profissionais de saúde, ressaltando nesse momento o fisioterapeuta, foram consideradas importantes para a busca e continuidade da terapêutica, podendo resultar na prevenção e diminuição das incapacidades geradas pela hanseníase.

Abstracts

The Hansen´s disease is an infectious-contagious disease that attacks mainly the skin, oral and nasal mucous membrane and peripheral nerves of the esqueletic-muscle system. It is believed that the knowledge of the patient about the pathology, complications prevention and the importance of physiotherapy in this process can provide a better quality of life to the Hansen´s disease carrier. The objective is to evaluate the knowledge of the Hansen´s disease carrier in relation to preventive physiotherapic intervention. It is a quantitative and transversal study, done with the application of a questionnaire elaborated by the researchers, after the approval of the Comitê de ética em Seres Humanos do Centro de Referência Nacional em Dermatologia Sanitária D. Libânia with the technical opinion 014/07. The sample was formed by 31 Hansen´s disease carrier patients, independent of sex, seen in the physiotherapy sector. Among the interviewee, 48,4% did not know the disease before contraction and 19,4% got the knowledge through the health professionals. About the Hansen´s disease complications, only 19,4% did not know them.  Among the interviewee, 96,8% Said that physiotherapy has a important role in the treatment and all of them observed improvement after the attendance. The orientation about the pathology and the treatment given by the health professionals, emphasizing physiotherapy, were considered important to the physiotherapic search and continuity, what can result in prevention and reduction of Hansen´s disease incapacities.
