Expertise of the Functional-Dermatology physiotherapist and  its recognition by medicine class

Resumo

A atuação do fisioterapeuta especialista em dermatofuncional muitas vezes é confundida com a ação de técnicos esteticistas. Essa especialidade da fisioterapia vem passando por grandes transformações e cresce a sua importância interdisciplinar em todos os âmbitos da medicina estética. Esse estudo avaliou a evolução do reconhecimento médico em relação à atuação do fisioterapeuta dermatofuncional. Foi feito uma análise comparativa com mesmo estudo realizado em 2005 na cidade de Brasília/DF. Foram aplicados 36 questionários aos médicos especializados em cirurgia plástica, dermatologia e medicina estética. Observou-se que entre 2005 até 2011 houve uma maior valorização da ação do fisioterapeuta principalmente no pós-operatório de cirurgias plásticas. O grupo de médicos reavaliados aumentou o encaminhamento de seus pacientes diretamente ao fisioterapeuta dermatofuncional. Houve uma diminuição da presença de técnicos esteticistas nessa área multidisciplinar. Ainda falta uma mudança de comportamento dos médicos quanto aos tantos recursos físicos que podem ser utilizados. Os médicos ainda precisam compreender a importância da atuação no pré-operatório. Sugere-se maior divulgação, junto aos médicos, de trabalhos científicos dos variados recursos fisioterapêuticos aplicados no pré e no pós-operatório de cirurgias estéticas.

Abstract

The work of the physiotherapist specialist in Functional-Dermatology often is confused with the action of technical beauticians. This specialty of physical therapy has been going through major changes and grows its  interdisciplinary importance in all areas of aesthetic medicine. This study evaluated the progress of the recognition doctor in relation to the work of the Functional-Dermatology physiotherapist. It was done a comparative analysis with the same study in 2005 in the city of Brasilia/DF. Were applied 36 questionnaires to doctors specializing in plastic surgery, dermatology and aesthetic medicine. It was observed that between the years 2005 and 2011 there was a greater appreciation of the shares of the physiotherapist mainly in post-operative plastic surgery. The group of doctors reevaluated increased the routing of their patients directly to the Functional-Dermatology physiotherapist. There was a decrease in the presence of technicians beauticians in this multidisciplinary field. Still missing a change in the behavior of doctors regarding the many physical resources that can be used. The doctors still need to understand the importance of the actions in the preoperative period. It is suggested greater disclosure, along with the medical, scientific work of the various physical therapeutic resources applied in the pre- and post-operative period of aesthetic surgeries.
