Resumo
Com os objetivos de analisar as suspensões de cirurgias, identificar os motivos mais freqüentes, as tipos mais suspensos, e os sentimentos apresentados pelos pacientes mediante a suspensão
da cirurgia, realizou-se um estudo descritivo, em um hospital filantrópico, com atendimento geral, no município de São Paulo, quando, no período de três meses, entrevistando-se 18 pacientes. Com os objetivos de analisar as suspensões de cirurgias, identificar os motivos mais freqüentes, as tipos mais suspensos, e os sentimentos apresentados pelos pacientes mediante a suspensão
da cirurgia, realizou-se um estudo descritivo, em um hospital filantrópico, com atendimento geral, no município de São Paulo, quando, no período de três meses, entrevistando-se 18 pacientes. Dentre as quatro equipes do Centro Cirúrgico Neurológico, o maior número de suspensão foi da equipe B (44%), a cirurgia com maior freqüência foi Artrodese de Coluna Cervical (40%) e o motivo foi falta de condições clínicas (36%). O sentimento mais representativo foi angustia (38,8%). Possivelmente os motivos encontrados são passíveis de serem minimizados com conseqüente repercussão positiva para os pacientes.

Abstract
The objectives of the study had been to identify the biggest number of suspension of surgery for team, the reasons most frequent, the surgeries that had been more suspended, and thefeelings presented for the patients by means of the suspension of the surgery. The work was carried through in a philanthropic hospital, with attendance general, in the city of São Paulo, theperiod of three months and carried through interview with 18 patients. Amongst the four teams of Neurological the SurgicalCenter, the greater I number of suspension was of team B (44%), the surgery more frequently was Astrodome de Cervical Coluna (40%), the reason was lack of clinical conditions (36%) and the presented feeling more was distresses (38.8%).
