RESUMO
A infertilidade acomete cerca de 10-15% da população em idade fértil e possui diversas causas, entre elas femininas, masculinas ou causas idiopáticas. Atualmente o adiamento da gravidez também tem se mostrado um fator importante e que aumenta a dificuldade dos casais em engravidarem. Mesmo com auxílio de técnicas de reprodução assistida, as taxas de gestação dificilmente chegam a 50%. Assim, a busca por novos tratamentos, ou aqueles que possam ser adicionais ao tratamento convencional, tem aumentado. A acupuntura tem se destacado cada vez mais e é crescente o interesse de pesquisadores. No presente trabalho foi realizada revisão de literatura acerca dos efeitos da acupuntura sobre a infertilidade feminina nos últimos dez anos, onde foram selecionados 14 artigos. Observou-se que em tratamentos com apenas duas sessões de acupuntura, os resultados de gravidez não foram diferentes estatisticamente dos grupos controles. Já em estudos que avaliaram a diminuição de ansiedade e diferenças durante o ciclo menstrual os resultados foram positivos. Vários fatores devem ser levados em conta, como maior quantidade de sessões, tratamento individualizado, maior número de participantes e os modos de acupuntura placebo. Podemos concluir que a acupuntura tem se mostrado benéfica para casais que estão fazendo algum tratamento para infertilidade, visto que a mesma reduz os níveis de estresse e ansiedade, que vão afetar indiretamente a vida do casal, porém mais estudos são necessários para avaliação geral dos efeitos da acupuntura sobre os índices de fertilidade, uma vez que se trata de um assunto complexo e cheio de detalhes.

ABSTRACT
Infertility affects about 10-15% of the population of childbearing age and has several causes, among them female, male or idiopathic causes. Currently the postponement of pregnancy has also been shown to be an important factor that increases the difficulty of couples getting pregnant. Even with the aid of assisted reproduction techniques, gestation rates rarely reach 50%. Thus, the search for new treatments, or those that may be additional to conventional treatment, has increased. Acupuncture has been increasingly prominent and the interest of researchers is growing. In the present work a literature review about the effects of acupuncture on female infertility in the last ten years was carried out, where 14 articles were selected. It was observed that in treatments with only two acupuncture sessions, the pregnancy results were not statistically different from the control groups. Already in studies that evaluated the decrease of anxiety and differences during the menstrual cycle the results were positive. Several factors should be taken into account, such as increased number of sessions, individualized treatment, increased number of participants and placebo acupuncture modes. We can conclude that acupuncture has proved to be beneficial for couples who are doing some treatment for infertility, since it reduces levels of stress and anxiety, which will indirectly affect the couple’s life, but more studies are necessary for general evaluation of the effects of acupuncture on fertility rates, since it is a complex subject and full of details.
