O PERFIL DE CRIANÇAS COM CARDIOPATIAS CONGÊNITAS SUBMETIDAS À CIRURGIA CARDÍACA EM UM CENTRO UNIVERSITÁRIO DO NORDESTE

RESUMO

As cardiopatias congênitas são problemas decorrentes de malformações na estrutura do coração durante o desenvolvimento embrionário. Acomete cerca de 1 em cada 100 crianças e aproximadamente 20% delas, necessitam de intervenção cirúrgica ainda no primeiro ano de vida. O presente estudo teve como objetivo descrever o perfil de crianças com cardiopatias congênitas submetidas à cirurgia cardíaca em um hospital de referência do Nordeste. Trata-se de um estudo transversal, quantitativo e descritivo, com dados coletados a partir de prontuários de crianças com cardiopatias congênitas submetidas à cirurgia cardíaca em um Hospital Universitário da cidade de São Luís- MA, no período de janeiro a dezembro de 2017. Do total de 31 cirurgias cardíacas no período descrito, 58% crianças eram do sexo feminino, com idade média de 4 anos, 77% procedentes do interior do Estado e 64,5% das cardiopatias foram acianogênicas. Os achados apontaram o perfil dos pacientes com cardiopatias congênitas, em sua maioria do gênero feminino, com idade pré-escolar, portadoras de cardiopatias acianogênicas, do tipo comunicação interatrial, e a maior parte não residia na capital. Houve complicações pós-operatórias, a mais frequente foram as cardíacas e a associação de cardiopatias com algumas síndromes ou malformações, com destaque para a síndrome de Down. Ressaltando dessa forma, a necessidade de estudos sobre as características dessa população e dos fatores que possam influenciar no sucesso da cirurgia cardíaca.

ABSTRACT

Congenital heart defects are problems resulting from malformations in the structure of the heart during embryonic development. It affects about 1 in 100 children and approximately 20% of them need surgical intervention in the first year of life. This study aimed to describe the profile of children with congenital heart disease who underwent cardiac surgery in a referral hospital in the Northeast. This is a cross-sectional, quantitative and descriptive study, with data collected from medical records of children with congenital heart disease who underwent cardiac surgery at the University Hospital of São Luís-MA, from January to December 2017. Of the 31 cardiac surgeries in the period described, 58% were female, with a mean age of 4 years, 77% from the interior of the state and 64.5% of heart diseases were acyanogenic. The results showed the profile of patients with congenital heart disease, mostly female, preschool age, with acyanogenic heart disease, interatrial communication type, and most did not live in the capital. There were postoperative complications, the most frequent being cardiac and the association of heart disease with some syndromes or malformations, especially Down syndrome. Thus highlighting the need for studies on the characteristics of this population and the factors that may influence the success of cardiac surgery.
